Water Baptism

What is baptism?

Our church practices water baptism as an outward expression of the inward change Jesus has made in your life. In the Great Commission, Jesus emphasized its importance,“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”. While baptism itself doesn’t save us, it declares that you belong to Jesus and invites others to celebrate that transformation with you. Why be baptized?

Christ followers are baptized because Jesus modeled it and taught its importance. Baptism is a personal way to identify with His death and resurrection, mark your decision to follow Him, and join a community that shares that commitment. For our church, it’s a joyful reminder to celebrate new life in Christ and support each person as they are called to grow in their faith. What does it look like?

Our church practices baptism by full immersion in water, done publicly before our congregation, including friends and family. We baptize children with parental consent. While we do not baptize infants, we joyfully dedicate them and pray over their lives. For biblical reference see these verses: Matthew 3:16 and Acts 18:8.
